How to Apply

1. Apply online at catigers.org

Click on the “Admissions” tab at the top of the page.  Then click on “online application”.  Please note that there is a $50 application fee to complete submission of the application.

2. Schedule a tour of the school

Once you have completed the online application, you will receive an email from the Admissions Director, Kaela Willcut, to schedule a school tour at your convenience.

3. Gather the necessary documents

You will need certain documents if you have not uploaded them to your application.  Those documents are:

1. Original birth certificate (we will make a copy and give the original back to you, but we do have to see the original)
2. Immunization Form 121 (shot records).  These can be faxed directly from a physician to us at (601) 645-5940 with the attention to “Admissions Office".
3. A Behavior Verification form from your student’s current school or daycare which speaks to behavior, character and any explanation of discipline.  We will send a blank one directly to the referring school, and they will email it back to us.
4. Most recent report card and unofficial transcripts from current school.  We must see grades for the previous three years (depending on grade level) in order to accept the student.
In order to enroll in the kindergarten program:
  • K3: a child must be 3 years old by September 1st and potty-trained.
  • K4, a child must be 4 years old by September 1st.
  • Kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old by September 1st.
  • First grade, a child must be 6 years old by September 1st.

4. Take the Placement Test

Set up a date and time to take the placement test for grades 1-12.  We do not base acceptance solely on this exam. It serves as a gauge for determining schedule needs, placement, and some learning difficulties.  The exam will take about one hour to complete.

5. Schedule a shadow day

During the school year, we welcome a shadowing day in order for your student to experience a typical day at Centreville Academy. The day is spent in the student’s current grade-level class.

6. Application Review Process

Once the above steps are complete and the Admissions Department has received all documents, the CA Admissions Committee will meet to review the student’s file and determine acceptance. The Admissions Director or a school administrator will contact you as soon as this process is complete.

7. Pay Fees

Upon acceptance, an annual registration fee, activity fee, and one-time CA Foundation Fee must be paid in order for the student to have a spot held in the class.

8. Set up a Family FACTS Account

Also upon acceptance, you will receive an email with instructions on how to set up your Family Portal account and complete the online enrollment packet.

Thank you for considering Centreville Academy. We hope you join our incredible community!
